Did you know that the types of commercials you watch before eating a meal can have an impact on the number of calories you consume?
According to a recent study conducted at the Cornell Food and Brand Lab in Ithaca, N.Y. , 125 participants who watched exercise related commercials (examples included running shoes, fitness centers…etc) compared to general commercials (washing machines, car insurance…etc ate 22% less calories at a buffet lunch. They also found that the contributors who watched the exercise commercials felt more active and believed they were in better shape than the other group.
In conclusion, the researchers believe that the exercise commercials made the participants more health conscious. Therefore one way to help you reduce the number of calories you consume in your next meal try watching someone else exercise before you sit down to eat your meal.
